Patricia Watson cd cover detail

Patricia Watson's love of music and theatre
is instrumental in her life!

Classic jazz, silky smooth with a gospel touch, that's the music in me. My voice and songs inspire my audience so much so that they cannot resist the urge to sing along and participate in this engaging soulful musical experience. Music is magic! Music is my passion!

Patricia Watson sings jazz

Patricia Watson, winner of The African Nova Scotia Music Association's 2009 "Rising Star" award has been singing most of her life. As a little girl, she had a recurring dream, "I would be sitting in the audience watching myself sing on stage" she recalls, "and be on stage watching myself in the audience."

This has played out in her life because she has actually been in both places. She has performed many times on different stages and been an appreciative audience member watching - and listening - to other musicians.

Patricia performs with John Bird (keyboard), John Duckworth (harmonica) Dave Harrison (flugelhorn), Luke Domm (saxophone), Steve MacNeil (bass) and Dave Skinner (drums). Patricia also sings with the dynamic group Nova Gospel Ensemble.

Patricia Watson launches new book!

New book by Patricia Watson

20 Winners at the Game of Life was borne from the desire to empower women to tell their story. This is a collection of short stories from women in all walks of life. Success is not defined in terms of money or material possessions. Success is defined as a state of being; an inner feeling and knowing that you like the person you've become.

Twenty women from Halifax and the South Shore, each at different times in their lives, each from very different backgrounds and each headed in very different directions, share the one thing they have in common: the will to succeed. Each woman shares trials and triumphs, and in the telling, reminds us of the power of positive thinking and the potential of every woman to define success in her own terms and to achieve success in her own way.

20 Winners at the Game of Life is a collection of real-life stories from real-life woman of strength, character and courage. Insightful and inspiring, it is a book that will make you think about your own life and your own power to succeed.

Some of the Soth Shore women in the book are: Sue Bookchin, Susan Borgersen, Jennie Carton (graphic designer for the book cover), Dawn Higgins, Dawn Harwood-Jones, Darlene Sanford and Patricia Watson.

20 Winners at the Game of Life was co-directed by Kaye Parker (Halifax) and Patricia Watson (East LaHave). Join us for the book launch on Thursday, June 21st - 6-8pm at Second Story Women's Centre, 22 King Street, Lunenburg, NS. Please RSVP to Patricia Watson at 902-766-4511. Looking forward to seeing you at the launch!

On June 25, 2016, the Starfish volunteers, Chester Drama Society volunteers and the Chester Playhouse came together to raise funds for the Starfish Refugee Project. This song, "What a Wonderful World" sung by Patricia Watson and Musical Friends, embodies the hope that humanity will some day learn to embrace diversity for the awesomeness it can offer. If only we could learn to live together and recognize the humanity in everyone.

"I am still reeling from pride for how well you did at your lesson. It truly was a transformative experience seeing the changes in your singing and intention. It makes me even more excited to do more with you both as a teacher and as a colleague. You are a gift to this world. You make a difference wherever you go. You've made a difference in my life. I think I'm learning more about myself working with you. Blessings!"

Gospel singing testimonial

"When Patricia Watson finished singing On Holy Ground . . . the whole church was silent. You know, that silence that says WOW - you have moved me so much I can't ruin the moment by clapping.

She wowed the entire church - both religious and non-religious with a stunning rendition of that gospel tune. My Choir - Studio Singers - was the backup group for that piece and we were honoured to have been part of it. The group loves singing behind Pat.  She brings us to new heights and takes us to new places with her music and her person."
- Dawn Harwood-Jones, Pink Dog Productions
